A battery lets you store daytime solar for use in the evening, reducing what you buy from the grid. Whether it pays off depends on your usage, your tariff and your solar system — we'll give you an honest, tailored estimate rather than a one-size-fits-all promise. Actual results vary.

How much does a battery cost?

It depends on the battery size and whether it's paired with new or existing solar. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program currently discounts eligible installed batteries (eligibility criteria apply, and the support steps down over time). We'll show you the full price with any incentive applied separately.

What size battery do I need?

That depends on how much energy you use in the evening and overnight, and the size of your solar system. We'll help you match battery capacity to your actual usage.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?

Usually yes — either through a hybrid inverter or an AC-coupled battery that works alongside your current setup. We'll assess your existing system and recommend the best option.

Will a battery keep my power on during a blackout?

Only if it's configured for backup — not all batteries or installations include blackout protection by default. If keeping the lights on during an outage matters to you, tell us and we'll design for it.

How long do batteries last?

Quality batteries are typically warranted for around 10 years or a set number of charge cycles. We'll show you the specific warranty for the battery you choose.
