Solar finance & $0 upfront
What “$0 upfront” actually means
You can have a system designed and installed without paying anything on the day. Instead of paying the cash price up front, you enter a payment plan with a finance provider and repay it over an agreed term.
It is finance, not a discount. The total you repay over the term is more than the cash price once fees are included, and the plan is a credit contract between you and the provider — not with EFS Solar.
Who provides the finance
EFS Solar works with Humm and Brightee. A monthly account fee applies and each provider sets its own terms, conditions, eligibility criteria and approval process. You will receive the provider’s own documents setting out the amount financed, the fees, the repayment schedule and the total amount payable before you commit to anything.
What to check before you sign
- The total amount payable over the full term, not just the monthly figure.
- The monthly account fee and any establishment or early-repayment fees.
- The length of the term and what happens if you want to pay it out early.
- Whether the repayment fits your budget on its own terms — not on an assumption about bill savings.
We will model the numbers against your actual usage and tariff as part of your quote rather than assuming your savings will cover the repayment. Whether they do depends on your household, your usage pattern and your retailer’s rates.
Paying cash instead
Paying up front avoids finance fees entirely and is the cheapest way to buy a system overall. Government incentives such as small-scale technology certificates apply either way, subject to eligibility — see our solar & battery rebates guide. EFS Solar is not affiliated with any government body.
